Accessibility at SuparBazaar News

We believe everyone deserves barrier-free access to news, regardless of ability or assistive technology.  |  Last Updated: February 25, 2026

♿ At SuparBazaar News, we are committed to ensuring that our website — suparbazaar.xyz — is accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities, regardless of the device or assistive technology they use.

We believe that access to news and information is a right, not a privilege. Our goal is to meet or exceed recognised web accessibility standards so that every reader can:

  • Read, navigate, and search news articles independently
  • Browse categories, trending stories, and archives using only a keyboard or screen reader
  • Subscribe to newsletters and manage their account without barriers
  • Contact our team with equal ease

This Accessibility Statement was last reviewed on February 25, 2026. We update it whenever we make meaningful changes to our accessibility approach or identify new areas for improvement.

Accessibility at SuparBazaar News is not a one-time checklist — it is an ongoing commitment embedded in how we design, build, and maintain our website.

🌟 The POUR Principles

  • Perceivable – All content is presentable in ways users can perceive (text alternatives, captions, adaptable layouts)
  • Operable – All functionality is available via keyboard and assistive technologies, not just a mouse
  • Understandable – Content and navigation are clear, predictable, and consistent in language and structure
  • Robust – Our site works reliably with current and future assistive technologies and browsers

These four principles align with the internationally recognised Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) framework and guide every development and design decision we make.

⚒️ Inclusive-First Design

We incorporate accessibility from the beginning of new feature development rather than retrofitting it after launch. Our team applies semantic HTML, logical tab order, visible focus indicators, and accessible colour contrast across the site — including on our AI-generated article pages.

We aim to conform with the following recognised web accessibility standards:

WCAG 2.1 Level AA W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines — our primary target standard
WCAG 2.2 Level AA The most current WCAG version — we actively review new success criteria for adoption
RPwD Act 2016 (India) Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act — applicable Indian legislation
WAI-ARIA 1.2 ARIA roles and properties for dynamic and interactive content
⚠️ Note: We have not yet completed a formal third-party accessibility audit. The standards above represent our targets and aspirations, not a certified compliance claim. We are actively working toward independent verification.

We have implemented the following accessibility measures across our website:

⌨️
Keyboard Navigation Full site navigable without a mouse; logical tab order throughout
🔍
Screen Reader Support Semantic HTML5, ARIA landmarks, roles, and labels for assistive tech
🧩
Alternative Text All meaningful images include descriptive alt attributes
🌁
Colour Contrast Text meets or exceeds WCAG AA minimum contrast ratio (4.5:1)
🔥
Focus Indicators Visible focus rings on all interactive elements (buttons, links, inputs)
📝
Accessible Forms All form fields have visible labels, clear error messages, and input hints
📱
Responsive Layout Mobile-first design; content reflows correctly on all screen sizes
Skip Navigation A "Skip to main content" link is available for keyboard users at the top of every page

📰 News-Specific Accessibility

  • Article pages – Headlines, bylines, publish dates, and article body text are all properly structured with semantic HTML heading hierarchy
  • Article labels – AI-generated and sponsored content is clearly labelled within the article markup
  • Search – News search is keyboard accessible with labelled inputs and results announced to screen readers
  • Category & Topic navigation – Category filters and navigation are fully keyboard and screen reader accessible
  • Newsletter sign-up – Subscription forms are fully accessible with labelled fields and confirmation messages
  • Account pages – User account settings use semantic structure and ARIA live regions for dynamic updates

Because SuparBazaar News publishes AI-assisted articles, we pay particular attention to how AI-generated content presents to readers of all abilities:

🤖 AI & Accessibility Principles

  • Plain language: AI-generated articles are reviewed to ensure they use clear, plain language free from jargon where possible — benefiting readers with cognitive disabilities and non-native speakers
  • Readable structure: Articles use proper heading levels (H1, H2, H3), short paragraphs, and bullet points to aid readability and screen reader navigation
  • AI labels in markup: Where articles are AI-generated or AI-assisted, this is noted in page metadata and visible labels for transparency and assistive technology users
  • Font size & line height: Base font size and generous line height are used across all article pages to support readers with visual impairments or dyslexia
  • No auto-playing media: We do not auto-play audio or video content that could disorient users
🔔 If you find an AI-generated article that is difficult to read, poorly structured, or inaccessible in any way, please report it to support@suparbazaar.xyz. We will review and improve it.

We are transparent about current limitations. We list them here with our planned remediation targets:

⚠️ The items below represent known gaps — not features we have decided to leave inaccessible. Each has an active remediation effort.
  • Some third-party embedded widgets (e.g., social media embeds, comment widgets) may not be fully keyboard navigable. Workaround: Contact our team and we will assist you to access the relevant content. Target fix: Ongoing.
  • Older article image galleries may lack descriptive alt text. Workaround: Request accessible descriptions from our team. Target fix: Mid-2026 retroactive labelling project.
  • Video content from third-party platforms (e.g., YouTube, Twitter/X embeds) — we have no direct control over caption availability. We recommend using the caption controls built into those platforms.
  • Some infographics embedded in older articles may not have text alternatives. Workaround: Request a text summary at support@suparbazaar.xyz.

🎬 Video Content

For any video content published or embedded on SuparBazaar News, we aim to provide:

  • Closed captions (CC) — Accurate, synchronised text captions for all spoken content
  • Transcripts — A full text version of video content available on request or alongside the video
  • Audio descriptions — For videos where visual information is essential to understanding
⚠️ Video captioning for third-party embedded content (YouTube, Twitter/X) depends on those platforms. We recommend using their built-in caption controls.

📷 Images in AI-Generated Articles

All images published alongside AI-generated news articles are reviewed to ensure they carry descriptive alternative text. Decorative images use empty alt attributes to be ignored by screen readers.

🆑️ Audio Content

Any podcast or audio-only content will include full text transcripts. If audio content is missing a transcript, please contact us and we will prioritise creating one.

Accessibility is a journey, not a destination. Our ongoing commitments include:

  • Periodic internal accessibility audits and user testing with assistive technologies
  • Training our content and development team on accessibility best practices and WCAG guidelines
  • Incorporating accessibility into our AI content review pipeline — including checking for clear heading structure, alt text, and plain language
  • Monitoring newly published tools and features for accessibility compliance before launch
  • Engaging with users who report accessibility issues and following up on resolutions
  • Publishing periodic updates to this Accessibility Statement to reflect progress made
📊 We aim to publish an annual accessibility progress report. If you would like to be notified when our accessibility updates are published, contact us at support@suparbazaar.xyz.
